This will be the second time I’ve keynoted for the Montana Child Abuse and Neglect Conference, and I am very honored to have been invited once more. Transracial placement, either through fostering or adoption, is complex, because of this culture’s ideas of absolutes: right/wrong, good/bad, black/white, yours/mine. By telling my story within the framework of the American culture structure, I will be able to provide a unique and important perspective to the considerations that must be made in such placements that will truly meet “In the best interests of the child.”
I hope to see you there.
